Sherief Elsayed has developed a practice in Endoscopic Spine Surgery. Certain patients with distinct problems may be suitable for such 'keyhole' surgery.
Endoscopic Spinal Surgery involves a significantly smaller incision than traditional open techniques, with significantly less disruption of the musculature surrounding the spine, enabling a much quicker recovery than those patients undergoing open surgery. Many patients are suitable for discharge on the day of their surgery.
Endoscopic Spine Surgery is not suitable for all patients nor all spinal problems. There is always a risk, albeit small, that conversion to open surgery will be necessary or the need for further open surgery at a later date will present itself. There are complications specific to Endoscopic Spine Surgery, which Sherief Elsayed will be happy to talk you through.
