Surgery
Sherief Elsayed is a British consultant spinal surgeon based in Dubai. He trained in the UK, completing a complex spine fellowship at the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery, Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, and was Lead Clinician for Spinal Surgery at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals before moving to the Gulf.
He exclusively treats patients with conditions affecting the spine, with a focus on complex and revision spinal surgery, spinal deformity, and minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery.

Research
His published work has been cited more than 1,100 times, with papers on metastatic spinal cord compression, spondylodiscitis, lumbar discectomy, cauda equina syndrome, deformity correction and odontoid fractures in older patients, and earlier work on ankle fractures and wound care from his orthopaedic training.
He developed the Brighton Spondylodiscitis Score, which predicts which patients with spinal infection are likely to need surgery. His use of 3D-printed, patient-specific navigation in scoliosis surgery received the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention Innovation Award.
